This past Friday The Crashers participated in the Unity Day Block Party hosted by Agents of Change and Friendship of Women. The purpose of this event is best detailed by the description provided on their Facebook Event:
“The Day of Unity is an opportunity for our community to come together in a show of solidarity. It’s a chance for members of the community to take a stand against violence and symbolically express their desire to make our community a place that is more open and welcoming of all people.”
The event was originally going to take place right outside of the Capitol building on East Levee Street. However, due to potential weather conditions, the event was moved to The Half Moon Saloon on East Adams and 11th Street. Unity Day marked the first time The Crashers had ever played this popular venue, and we had fun. Everyone had a great time and we were glad to be a part of it.
